When We Are Tired

There are some days when we are tired for whatever reason. Days come where we feel like we are drained both emotionally and physically. Nights come where we are so tired that we can’t fall asleep. When we are tired, we are not much use to ourselves or others. Sometimes we can’t think straight, we can’t pay attention and we certainly have no energy to do much good for anyone. When we are being too tired, our guard is down. We are more likely to get hurt by what someone says, or likely to lash out at others, or more likely to say something that we will regret later.

Those days may drag into weeks and months if we are not careful. We may be tired from physical exhaustion of trying to do too much. We may we be tired from emotional exhaustion because of a problem we have had. Tired from lack of sleep or not eating the proper foods. Whatever the reason, we need to take time to determine what causes it and what to do about it.

A temporary tiredness could be a sign that we do need to slow down. It may be rest we need. It may be better eating habits. We may try temporary ways to get our energy back by taking pills, consuming caffeine or get some extra rest.

We need to go to God who can help us gain strength and be alert in all that we do. No other can compare to God’s power. There are no drugs, foods or drinks that will give us the energy and no books or remedies can do what God can do for us.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
